German Tart that Melts in the Mouth

Ingredients:

For the dough:

  • 200 g of flour

  • 100 g of cold butter

  • 50 g of sugar

  • 1 egg

  • A pinch of salt

For the filling:

  • 4-5 apples (preferably varieties that hold up well, like Granny Smith or Golden Delicious)

  • 100 g of sugar

  • 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon

  • 1 tablespoon of flour (to thicken the filling)

  • 1 lemon (juice and zest)

For the topping:

  • 50 g of butter

  • 50 g of sugar

  • 50 g of flour

  • 50 g of ground almonds (optional)
