Ingredients:
The Beefy Filling:
– 500 g lean beef mince (or chunky chuck steak for a “gourmet” version)
– 1 large brown onion, finely diced
– 2 cloves garlic, crushed
– 1 1/2 cups beef stock
– 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
– 2 tbsp tomato sauce (ketchup)
– 1 tsp dried oregano
– 2 tbsp cornflour mixed with 1/4 cup cold water (the thickening “slurry”)
– 1/2 tsp sea salt & 1 tsp cracked black pepper
The Pastry Duo:
– 2 sheets ready-rolled shortcrust pastry (for the base)
– 2 sheets ready-rolled puff pastry (for the lid)
– 1 egg, lightly beaten (for egg wash)
