Mile High Chocolate Pound Cake

A rich, moist, and decadent chocolate pound cake that is perfect for celebrations or simply to enjoy at home.

Ingredients

For the Cake

  • 1 ½ cups (190g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
  • ½ cup (100g) packed brown sugar
  • ½ cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup (240ml) whole milk
  • ½ cup (50g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup (90g) semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional)

For the Chocolate Frosting

  • 1 cup (230g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 ½ cups (440g) powdered sugar
  • ½ cup (50g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ¼ cup (60ml) heavy cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

A pinch of salt
