Dough preparation:
- Mix together 250 g sour cream, 250 g sugar, and 1 teaspoon of baking soda.
- Add about 3 cups of flour and knead the dough. Do not knead for too long—the dough should be soft, not too firm.
- Divide the dough into 5–6 pieces.
Shaping and cooking the layers:
4. Roll out the first piece into a thin round layer. Trim it into an even circle (you can use a pot lid or pan if you don’t have a mold).
5. Cook each layer in a dry frying pan over medium heat on the stove (NOT in the oven) until done. Repeat with all layers.
Cream preparation:
- Whip 600 g sour cream with 300 g sugar and vanilla sugar (if using).
- Add the ground walnuts and mix well.
Assembling the cake:
- Assemble the cake by generously spreading cream between each layer.
- Sprinkle the top with extra ground walnuts if desired.
- Refrigerate for 5–6 hours, preferably overnight, to let it soak.
