Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups gluten-free flour or all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- ½ tsp ground cinnamon
- ½ cup sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 ½ cups coarsely chopped pecans
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 ½ cups boiling water
- Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream, for serving (optional)
For best flavor, toast the pecans lightly in a dry skillet before adding them.
Both gluten-free flour and traditional all-purpose flour work well in this recipe.
