3. How to Start
-
Take a handful of raw (unsalted, unroasted) pistachios.
-
Remove the hard shells and place the nuts in a glass of water.
-
Let them soak overnight in a completely dark place.
4. Prepare for Germination
-
The next morning, place the soaked pistachios on a dry paper towel.
-
Cover them with another moist paper towel.
-
Maintaining good humidity is key to successful germination.
5. Wait and Plant
-
After about 10 days, as long as the paper towel stays moist, you’ll notice small sprouts starting to form.
-
Now you can plant the seeds in a pot. Choose a deep pot so the roots have room to grow.
6. Planting Instructions
-
Fill the pot with soil.
-
Make small holes and place the sprouted pistachios inside.
-
Make sure the soil does not completely cover the sprouted seeds.
7. Care and Maintenance
-
Water the plant and place the pot in a sunny spot.
-
Water regularly, but avoid waterlogging.
With some time and attention, you’ll soon be rewarded with a small but beautiful pistachio tree—right in your own home!
