I Spend Just 10 Minutes on Two Simple Steps — and My Christmas Cactus Blooms Lush and Long!

🌱 Soil Mix for Christmas Cactus

You can use store-bought soil or make your own:

  • 1 part sod soil

  • 1 part sand

  • 2 parts leaf soil

  • Add crushed charcoal for disinfection

  • Add expanded clay (perlite or LECA) for good drainage

🌸 To Trigger Blooming

  • At the start of December, move the plant to a bright location (but not in direct sunlight) and start watering generously.

  • This will “wake” the plant and stimulate active blooming.

  • Once flowering ends, gradually reduce watering and move the cactus to a cool place, where it can rest until the end of March.

By late March, the vegetative period begins. Move it back to its usual spot and resume regular care as described above.
