Make the filling
In a bowl, combine:- Cream cheese
- Chopped crab
- Green onions
- Soy sauce
- Garlic powder
- Black pepper
Mix until smooth and well combined.
- Assemble the wontons
- Place a wonton wrapper on a flat surface.
- Add about 1 teaspoon of filling in the center.
- Moisten the edges with a little water.
- Fold and seal (triangle or pinch all corners together to form a pouch).
- Press edges firmly to avoid leaks.
- Heat the oil
Heat oil in a deep pan or fryer to 350°F (175°C). - Fry
- Fry the wontons in batches (don’t overcrowd).
- Cook for 2–3 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove and drain on paper towels.
- Serve
Serve hot with sweet chili sauce, duck sauce, or soy sauce.
Tips
- Make sure the edges are sealed well so they don’t open while frying.
- Keep unused wrappers covered so they don’t dry out.
- You can bake or air-fry them for a lighter version if you want.
