Easy Applesauce Cobbler

👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Melt the butter
    Place the stick of butter in a 9×9-inch baking dish and put it in the oven until melted. Remove once fully melted.
  3. Mix the batter
    In a bowl, combine:
    • self-rising flour
    • sugar
    • milk
      Stir until smooth (don’t overmix).
  4. Assemble (don’t stir layers!)
    • Pour the batter evenly over the melted butter in the dish.
    • Gently pour the applesauce over the batter.
    • Sprinkle cinnamon evenly on top.
      👉 Do not stir—this layering creates the cobbler texture.
  5. Bake
    Bake for 40–45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the edges are bubbling.
  6. Cool slightly & serve
    Let it sit for about 10–15 minutes before serving so it sets up.

🍽️ Tips

  • Great served warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
  • If you don’t have self-rising flour, use:
    • 1 cup all-purpose flour + 1½ tsp baking powder + ¼ tsp salt
