Delicious Cabbage Casserole

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  • In a deep-sided skillet or pot on the stove, heat the olive oil, ground turkey, and onion over medium-high heat. Continue to cook until the turkey is completely browned.
  • Add the tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, garlic powder, oregano, and salt and pepper to taste to the pot and simmer for 15-20 minutes.
  • Place half of the shredded cabbage in the bottom of a well-greased casserole dish.
  • Add ½ of the turkey sauce mixture over the cabbage.
  • Top the turkey sauce layer with the other half of the cabbage.
  • Spread the rest of the turkey sauce mixture over the cabbage.
  • Place a layer of ricotta cheese over the casserole, and sprinkle with the mozzarella cheese.
  • Cover the casserole dish with tin foil, and bake for 40 minutes.
  • Remove the foil, and bake for another 15 minutes before serving.
