Classic Churros

My grandmother once told me how she tasted churros for the first time in Spain, and ever since, it became a Sunday morning tradition to make these classic crunchy sticks at home — dusted with sugar and served with a warm chocolate sauce on the side…

Ingredients:

  • 250 ml water

  • 2 tablespoons sugar

  • A pinch of salt

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or butter

  • 150 g all-purpose flour (type 00)

  • (Optional) 1 egg – for a lighter texture

  • Vegetable oil for frying (sunflower or peanut oil)

  • Sugar and cinnamon for coating
