Classic Churros

Preparation:

Dough

  1. In a saucepan, bring the water to a boil with the sugar, salt, and oil.

  2. Remove from heat and add the flour all at once.

  3. Stir vigorously with a wooden spoon until the dough comes together into a smooth ball.

  4. (Optional): Add 1 egg and mix well for a softer consistency.

Shaping the Churros

  1. Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a star-shaped nozzle.

  2. Pipe out sticks about 10–12 cm (4–5 inches) long onto small rectangles of parchment paper (as shown in the photo, if available).

Frying

  1. Heat oil in a deep pan to 175°C (350°F).

  2. Gently drop the churro sticks into the hot oil (the parchment paper will release quickly).

  3. Fry for about 2–3 minutes per side, until golden and crispy.

Finishing Touch

  1. Drain on paper towels.

  2. Immediately roll in a mixture of sugar and cinnamon.

Serving:

Serve hot with melted chocolate or Nutella for dipping.
Perfect as a dessert or an indulgent afternoon snack!
