Directions

  1. Begin by heating a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat.
  2. Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread.
  3. Place one slice of bread butter-side down on the skillet.
  4. Sprinkle half of the cheese onto the bread in the skillet.
  5. Add any additional ingredients like sliced tomatoes or cooked bacon.
  6. Top with the remaining cheese and the second slice of bread, butter-side up.
  7. Cook the sandwich for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  8. Remove from the skillet, slice in half, and serve hot.
