Brioche Recipe

Ingredients (makes about 10–12 brioches)

For the dough:

  • 500 g Manitoba flour (or strong bread flour)

  • 100 g sugar

  • 100 ml warm milk

  • 100 ml warm water

  • 3 eggs

  • 100 g soft butter, cut into pieces

  • 12 g fresh yeast (or 5 g dry yeast)

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (or grated lemon/orange zest)

  • 1 pinch of salt

For brushing:

  • 1 egg yolk + 2 tablespoons milk
