A Heavenly Hybrid: The Cinnamon Sugar Donut Muffin

Ingredients

For the Muffins:

· 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
· 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
· ½ teaspoon baking soda
· ½ teaspoon salt
· 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
· ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg (essential for that “donut” flavor)
· ½ cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
· ¾ cup (150g) granulated sugar
· 2 large eggs, at room temperature
· 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
· 1 cup (240ml) buttermilk, at room temperature

For the Cinnamon Sugar Coating:

· ½ cup (100g) granulated sugar
· 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
· 6 tablespoons (85g) unsalted butter, melted
