- Preheat oven
Set your oven to 350°F (175°C). - Layer the lemon filling
Spread the lemon pie filling evenly in the bottom of a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. - Add cream cheese
Cut the cream cheese into small cubes and scatter them evenly over the lemon filling. - Add cake mix (dry!)
Sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix evenly over the top.
👉 Do not stir. - Add butter
Drizzle the melted butter evenly over the cake mix, trying to cover as much of the dry mix as possible. - Bake
Bake for 40–45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and slightly crisp. - Cool slightly & serve
Let it rest for about 10–15 minutes before serving.
🍽️ Tips & Variations
- If you see dry powder spots after baking, you can lightly drizzle a bit more melted butter and return to the oven for a few minutes.
- Great served warm with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
- For extra flavor, add a little lemon zest on top before baking.
