Preparation:
Preheat your oven to 180°C (top/bottom heat). Grease a springform pan (approx. 26 cm / 10-inch diameter) well. -
Make the batter:
In a large bowl, cream the butter, sugar, and vanilla sugar using a hand mixer or whisk. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Combine the flour and baking powder, sift them into the bowl. Add a small pinch of salt and 160 ml of milk. Mix everything into a smooth batter. -
Prepare the vanilla pudding:
In a small bowl, mix the vanilla pudding powder with 2 tablespoons of sugar and 4 tablespoons of cold milk until smooth. Heat the remaining milk in a small saucepan. Once it starts to boil, stir in the pudding mixture and cook until thick, stirring constantly. Let the pudding cool slightly. -
Prepare the apples:
Peel, core, and slice the apples thinly. -
Assemble the cake:
Pour the batter into the greased springform pan and spread it evenly. Then, spread the vanilla pudding over the batter. Arrange the apple slices nicely on top of the pudding. -
Bake:
Bake the cake for 35–40 minutes in the preheated oven, until golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean. -
Cool and serve:
Let the cake cool in the pan. Optional: Dust with powdered sugar or serve with whipped cream.
