We eat this three times a week: Baked Party Schnitzel from the Oven

Preparation:

Baked party schnitzels are a simple and delicious dish, perfect for a cozy week. Here’s a step-by-step guide for this tasty recipe:

  1. Prepare the schnitzels:
First, season the pork schnitzels with salt and pepper. Heat some oil in a pan and sear the schnitzels on both sides until golden brown. If you like them a bit crunchier, you can bread the schnitzels before frying. Once cooked, remove them from the pan and set aside.

  2. Make the sauce:
In the same pan, sauté the chopped onions and garlic until translucent. Then add the cream and season with paprika powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well and let it simmer on medium heat until the sauce thickens a bit. Cut the ham into small pieces and add it to the pan. Stir everything together.

  3. Assemble the schnitzels:
Place the pre-fried schnitzels in a baking dish. Pour the freshly made cream sauce evenly over them and sprinkle generously with grated cheese.

  4. Bake:
Put the baking dish in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) and bake for about 20 minutes, until the cheese is melted and golden brown.

  5. Serve:
Let the party schnitzels cool briefly after baking, then serve on plates. They go especially well with a fresh salad or crispy baguette.
