Preparation
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter.
- Cut crusts off bread slices and discard or save for another use.
- Use a rolling pin to flatten each slice of bread.
- In a medium-sized bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth, then add egg, and ¼ cup sugar. Mix until fully combined.
- Spread cream cheese mixture onto flattened bread, roll up the slice, then cut in half or in thirds. Place rolls seam side down in the prepared baking dish.
- Generously brush rolls with the melted butter.
- In a small bowl, combine remaining sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle over rolls.
- Bake for for 15-18 minutes or until golden in color. Serve warm.
