Sugar Snails

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter.
  2. Cut crusts off bread slices and discard or save for another use.
  3. Use a rolling pin to flatten each slice of bread.
  4. In a medium-sized bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth, then add egg, and ¼ cup sugar. Mix until fully combined.
  5. Spread cream cheese mixture onto flattened bread, roll up the slice, then cut in half or in thirds. Place rolls seam side down in the prepared baking dish.
  6. Generously brush rolls with the melted butter.
  7. In a small bowl, combine remaining sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle over rolls.
  8. Bake for for 15-18 minutes or until golden in color. Serve warm.
