Sticky Honey Garlic Ribs Recipe

Instructions

1. Prepare the ribs

  • Pat the ribs dry with paper towels.
  • Season lightly with salt and pepper (optional, not shown in ingredients).

2. Make the sticky sauce

In a bowl, mix together:

  • honey
  • soy sauce
  • hoisin sauce
  • brown sugar
  • rice vinegar
  • sesame oil
  • ginger
  • garlic
  • red pepper flakes

Stir until the sugar dissolves.

3. Marinate

  • Place ribs in a large bowl or zip bag.
  • Pour half of the sauce over the ribs (keep the other half for cooking).
  • Marinate at least 1 hour, or overnight for stronger flavor.

4. Cook the ribs (choose your method)

🔥 Oven Method (best for sticky glaze)

  1. Preheat oven to 150°C / 300°F.
  2. Arrange ribs on a baking tray lined with foil.
  3. Cover tightly with foil.
  4. Bake 2 hours until tender.
  5. Remove foil, brush with remaining sauce.
  6. Increase temperature to 200°C / 400°F and bake 10–15 minutes until sticky and caramelized.

🔥 Air Fryer Method

  1. Air fry ribs at 180°C / 360°F for 20–25 minutes, turning halfway.
  2. Brush with sauce and air fry 5 extra minutes to caramelize.

🔥 Stovetop + Broil

  1. Simmer ribs in a pan with a little water for 45–60 minutes until soft.
  2. Place on a tray, brush with sauce, and broil/grill for 5–8 minutes.

✨ Tips for Extra Flavor

  • Add 1 tsp smoked paprika for a BBQ taste.
  • Finish with sesame seeds + chopped green onions.
  • Reduce leftover sauce in a pan for a thicker glaze.
