Slow cooker pasta dish

Instructions:

  1. Slice onions thinly.
  2. Add onions, olive oil or butter, salt, and sugar to slow cooker. Stir to combine.
  3. Cook on low for 8-10 hours, stirring occasionally.
  4. About 30 minutes before onions are done, add garlic, thyme, rosemary, and white wine or vegetable broth.
  5. Cook pasta according to package directions. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water.
  6. Combine caramelized onions with cooked pasta, adding reserved pasta water as needed.
  7. Stir in Parmesan cheese and season with salt and pepper.
  8. Garnish with parsley and serve immediately.
