Instructions:
1. Prepare the beef
Slice the beef into thin strips (against the grain for tenderness).
2. Make the sauce
In a bowl, mix:
- Beef broth
- Soy sauce
- Brown sugar
- Garlic
- Sesame oil
3. Add to slow cooker
- Place the sliced beef into the slow cooker
- Pour the sauce over the beef
- Stir to coat evenly
4. Cook
- Cook on LOW for 4–5 hours or HIGH for 2–3 hours, until beef is tender
5. Thicken the sauce
- Mix cornstarch with water to make a slurry
- Stir it into the slow cooker
- Let cook another 20–30 minutes until sauce thickens
6. Add broccoli
- Add broccoli florets
- Cook for another 20–30 minutes until tender but still bright green
7. Serve
- Serve hot over white rice
- Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions if desired
Tips:
- For extra flavor, add a little ginger or chili flakes
- Don’t overcook broccoli—it should stay slightly crisp
- You can swap beef for chicken if you want a lighter version
