Sausage Rolls with Flaky Pastry

Directions:

1️⃣ Prepare the filling:
1. In a large bowl, combine sausage mince, onion, carrot, garlic, breadcrumbs, egg, tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
2. Mix until well combined.

3. Preheat oven to 200°C fan forced.
4. Line two baking trays with baking paper.
5. Cut each pastry sheet in half to create rectangles.
3️⃣ Shape the sausage rolls:
6. Place a log of filling along one long edge of each pastry piece.
7. Roll pastry over filling to enclose tightly.
8. Seal edge with a little egg wash.
9. Cut each roll into desired lengths.
4️⃣ Finish and bake:
10. Place rolls seam-side down on prepared trays.
11. Brush tops with egg wash.
12. Sprinkle with sesame or poppy seeds if using.
13. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until pastry is puffed and golden.
To serve:
Serve warm with tomato sauce or chutney. Perfect for lunchboxes, parties, picnics, or easy dinners
