Red Onion Fritters: a delicious dish for the whole family!

Preparation:

  1. Peel and thinly slice the onions.

  2. Place the onions in a strainer set over a bowl, sprinkle them with the salt, and mix well with your hands for about 10 minutes.

  3. Rinse the onions under running water to remove the excess salt and drain them well.

  4. In a bowl, combine the flour, sparkling water, oregano, pecorino, and a pinch of salt. Mix until you get a smooth batter.

  5. Add the prepared onions to the batter and gently mix to combine.

  6. Heat plenty of oil in a pan over medium-high heat.

  7. Using two spoons, scoop portions of batter and fry the fritters until golden, about 8 minutes.

  8. Drain the fritters on paper towels to remove excess oil.

  9. Serve the fritters hot, accompanied by a sauce of your choice.
