Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 200°C (392°F) top and bottom heat. Line a baking tray with parchment paper.

Cut the ham into small cubes. In a bowl, mix the ham, grated cheese, crème fraîche, and chopped parsley. Season with salt and pepper.

Roll out the puff pastry and spread the ham and cheese mixture evenly over it, leaving about a 1 cm border all around.

Carefully roll up the puff pastry from the long side. Moisten the edges with a bit of water and press them well to seal.

Beat the egg in a bowl and brush the pastry roll with it. Then prick the strudel several times with a fork to allow steam to escape while baking.

Bake the strudel in the preheated oven for about 25–30 minutes until golden brown. Let the strudel cool slightly before serving.
