Puff Pastry Filled with Cream and 250 g of Quark

Preparation:

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (392°F), top and bottom heat.

  2. Line a baking tray with parchment paper.

  3. In a bowl, mix the quark, sugar, vanilla sugar, pudding powder, and a pinch of salt until smooth and creamy.

  4. Roll out both puff pastry sheets.

  5. Spread the vanilla quark filling evenly over one sheet of puff pastry.

  6. Gently place the second sheet on top without pressing down.

  7. Cut the layered dough horizontally into about 20 strips (or other shapes if preferred).

  8. Carefully twist the strips.

  9. Place the twisted sticks on the baking tray, leaving space between them.

  10. Whisk one egg yolk with a tablespoon of milk and brush over the sticks.

  11. Bake for about 20 minutes until golden brown.

  12. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
