Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until well combined.

If desired, fold in chocolate chips, nuts, or dried fruits to add extra flavor and texture to the dough.

Using a cookie scoop or spoon, drop dollops of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each cookie.

Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
