My Sweet Kitchen Hack – Apple Puff Pastry Pockets

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (392°F) top and bottom heat.

  2. Take out a baking sheet and line it with parchment paper.

  3. Mix the sugar and cinnamon in a bowl or deep plate.

  4. Crack the egg into a small bowl and beat it.

  5. Peel the apples and cut them into slices about 1 cm thick.

  6. Use a round cutter to core each apple slice.

  7. Press both sides of the apple slices into the sugar-cinnamon mixture.

  8. Roll out the puff pastry and cut it lengthwise into 1 to 2 cm thick strips using a pizza cutter or sharp knife.

  9. Wrap each apple slice with the puff pastry strips. I needed 2 strips of puff pastry per apple slice.

  10. Place the wrapped apple slices on the baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  11. Brush the apple slices with the beaten egg.

  12. Sprinkle with the sugar-cinnamon mixture.

  13. Bake in the middle rack for about 20 minutes or until the puff pastry has risen and turned golden brown.

  14. Remove from the oven and let cool on a wire rack.

  15. Optionally, dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Enjoy!
