Instructions:
-
Preheat the oven to 200°C (392°F) top and bottom heat.
-
Take out a baking sheet and line it with parchment paper.
-
Mix the sugar and cinnamon in a bowl or deep plate.
-
Crack the egg into a small bowl and beat it.
-
Peel the apples and cut them into slices about 1 cm thick.
-
Use a round cutter to core each apple slice.
-
Press both sides of the apple slices into the sugar-cinnamon mixture.
-
Roll out the puff pastry and cut it lengthwise into 1 to 2 cm thick strips using a pizza cutter or sharp knife.
-
Wrap each apple slice with the puff pastry strips. I needed 2 strips of puff pastry per apple slice.
-
Place the wrapped apple slices on the baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
-
Brush the apple slices with the beaten egg.
-
Sprinkle with the sugar-cinnamon mixture.
-
Bake in the middle rack for about 20 minutes or until the puff pastry has risen and turned golden brown.
-
Remove from the oven and let cool on a wire rack.
-
Optionally, dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Enjoy!
