- 2 pounds chopped meat
 - 4 – eggs
 - 1 large onion, finely chopped
 - 2 tablespoons chopped parsley
 - 2 teaspoons salt
 - 1/2 teaspoon pepper
 - 2/3 cup oatmeal
 - 1 cup Italian bread crumbs
 - 1 cup finely shredded carrots
 - 1 cup finely shredded celery
 - 6 tablespoons ketchup
 
SAUCE
- 1/3 cup ketchup
 - 1 can beef consomme soup (10.5 oz)
 - 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
 - 1 tablespoon corn starch
 - – several drops of Frank’s red hot sauce or Tabasco hot sauce (optional)
