Lasagna Bolognese

🕓 Time: About 1 hour and 15 minutes
🍽️ Servings: 6–8
Level: Easy, as long as you follow the steps in order

🧂 Ingredients

For the Bolognese sauce:

  • 500 g mixed ground meat (or just beef for a more classic version)

  • 1 onion, finely chopped

  • 2 garlic cloves

  • 1 carrot, grated

  • 2 tbsp olive oil or cooking oil

  • 400 g canned tomatoes (or puréed)

  • 2 tbsp tomato paste

  • 1 tsp oregano

  • 1 tsp basil

  • Salt and black pepper to taste

  • A pinch of sugar (to balance the acidity)

For the béchamel sauce:

  • 50 g butter

  • 3 tbsp flour

  • 700 ml fresh milk

  • A pinch of nutmeg

  • Salt and white pepper to taste

  • 100 g grated cheese or Parmesan (optional – for extra creaminess)

For assembling:

  • 9–12 lasagna sheets (depending on the size of your baking dish)

  • 200–250 g grated cheese/mozzarella for topping

  • Fresh parsley for garnish 🌿
