The King Cake with almond cream by Cyril Lignac is made of a crispy, golden puff pastry crust filled with a smooth almond cream made from ground almonds, sugar, eggs, butter, and flavorings such as vanilla and rum. A small ceramic figurine (called a fève) is traditionally hidden inside the cake, and whoever finds it in their slice becomes king or queen for the day.
