5️⃣ Apple Cinnamon Rolls

🌟 Introduction

These apple cinnamon rolls are the perfect blend of sweet, fruity, and spicy. The apple filling adds texture and freshness, while the cream cheese glaze completes the perfect treat.

🧾 Ingredients

Dough

  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 2¼ tsp active dry yeast
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 1 egg + 1 egg yolk
  • ¼ cup melted butter
  • 3½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ¾ tsp salt

Apple Filling

  • 2 cups apples, peeled & diced
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 1½ tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch

Cinnamon Sugar

  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 1½ tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ cup softened butter

Cream Cheese Glaze

  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • ¾ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1–2 tbsp milk

🍞 Instructions (Method)

  1. Apple filling: Cook apples, butter, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and cornstarch over medium heat until soft and thick. Cool.
  2. Mix warm milk, yeast, and sugar; rest 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  3. Add eggs, butter, flour, and salt; knead until smooth.
  4. Rise 1 hour until doubled.
  5. Roll dough, spread butter, sprinkle cinnamon sugar, and spoon apple filling evenly.
  6. Roll, slice, and place in a greased pan.
  7. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25–30 minutes.
  8. Spread glaze over warm rolls.
