“Goddess” Pie: I wanted to share it with my neighbor — but we ended up eating the whole thing ourselves.

Preparation

Dough:

  1. Mix the egg yolks with salt and sugar.

  2. In a separate bowl, sift the flour with baking powder.

  3. Add the butter and rub it in with your hands until it resembles crumbs.

  4. Add the beaten yolks to the crumbs and knead into a dough.

  5. Line a 20 cm baking pan with parchment paper and press most of the dough into the bottom, forming sides with your hands.

Cherry Layer:

  1. Place the cherries in a saucepan, add the sugar and starch, and stir.

  2. Cook over heat, stirring constantly, until thickened.

  3. Spread the cherry mixture between the dough edges in the pan.

Cream:

  1. Beat the egg whites with sugar until stiff white peaks form.

  2. Gently fold in the yogurt (or sour cream) with a spatula.

  3. Spread the cream mixture over the cherry layer in the pan.

  4. Crumble the remaining dough over the top, covering the entire surface.

Baking:

Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (356°F) for 40–45 minutes.

Enjoy! 🍒✨
