Instructions

  1. Prepare the batter
    First, separate the eggs. Beat the egg whites with sugar until fluffy, then mix in the egg yolks one at a time.

  2. Add the flour
    Gently fold in the flour until fully combined.

  3. Bake the sponge
    Spread the batter onto a baking tray lined with parchment paper and bake in a preheated oven at 180 °C (356 °F) for 7–10 minutes.

  4. Roll and cool
    After baking, roll the sponge up with the baking paper while it’s still warm, and let it cool.

  5. Assemble the roll
    Unroll the cooled sponge, spread with cream, add fruit, and roll it back up.

  6. Decorate (optional)
    Dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with chocolate glaze.
