Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan for the cake.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Add the milk, melted unsalted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix until the batter is smooth and free of lumps.
- In a separate bowl, mix the brown sugar and ground cinnamon to create the cinnamon sugar filling.
- Pour half of the cake batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly.
- Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar filling over the batter in the pan.
- Pour the remaining cake batter over the cinnamon sugar layer, covering it completely.
- Use a butter knife to gently swirl the layers of batter and cinnamon sugar together, creating a marbled effect.
- Bake the Cinna-Bun Cake in the preheated oven for approximately 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- While the cake is baking, prepare the cream cheese frosting. In a mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth and creamy. Gradually add the powdered sugar and 2 tablespoons of milk, mixing until the frosting is smooth and spreadable.
- Once the cake is done, remove it from the oven and let it cool slightly.
- Spread the cream cheese frosting over the warm cake for a luscious and delightful finishing touch.
Slice and serve the Cinna-Bun Cake while it’s still warm for the ultimate treat!
