Churro Stuffed French Toast with Cinnamon Sugar

Instructions:

Step 1:
In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt to make the custard mixture. Set aside.
Step 2:
In another bowl, combine softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
Step 3:
Spread the cream cheese mixture onto 4 slices of bread and top with the remaining slices to form sandwiches.
Step 4:
Dip each sandwich into the egg custard, coating both sides.
Step 5:
Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Grease with butter and cook each sandwich for 2–3 minutes per side, or until golden brown.
Step 6:
While still warm, brush with melted butter and roll in cinnamon sugar.
Step 7:
Serve with maple syrup or dusted powdered sugar.

 Tips:

Freeze the sandwiches for 10 minutes before dipping if the filling is too soft.
Try adding sliced strawberries or Nutella to the filling for a twist.
Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 2 days and reheat in a skillet.”
