1. Make the Dough (Streusel):
Combine the soft butter, sugar, flour, baking powder, and cocoa powder in a bowl. Use your hands to mix everything into a crumbly dough.
Spread half of the crumble mixture evenly on the bottom of a baking tin (lined or greased).
2. Prepare the Cream Filling:
In a separate bowl, mix the smetana (or sour cream), quark, sugar, vanilla sugar, and vanilla pudding powder. Use a hand mixer to blend everything into a smooth cream.
3. Assemble the Cake:
Spread the cream mixture evenly over the bottom layer of streusel.
Sprinkle the remaining streusel on top of the cream.
4. Bake:
Bake the cake at 170Β°C (340Β°F), top and bottom heat, for about 40 minutes.
5. Cool and Decorate:
Let the cake cool completely, then dust with powdered sugar if desired.
