How to Make Them

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×9-inch baking pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix melted butter, brown sugar, vanilla, and egg until smooth.
  3. Add flour, baking powder, salt, and baking soda. Stir until just combined.
  4. Fold in chocolate chips, then pour the batter into your prepared pan.
  5. Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden and slightly crackled on top.
  6. Let them cool (if you can wait), then slice and serve. Movie optional—snacking mandatory.
