Brown Sugar Cinnamon Butter Cookies

Preparation Steps

Mix the butter and sugar:
Beat butter, brown sugar, and white sugar together until smooth and creamy.
Add the wet ingredients:
Mix in egg and vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
Whisk the dry ingredients:
In another bowl, combine flour, cinnamon, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually mix into the wet ingredients until a soft dough forms.
Shape and chill:
Scoop the dough into small balls, about 1 inch each. Chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes for the best texture.
Bake:
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Place cookies on a parchment-lined sheet and flatten slightly. Sprinkle with the cinnamon-sugar topping if using. Bake 9–11 minutes or until edges are golden.
Cool and enjoy:
Let cookies cool on the tray for 5 minutes before transferring to a rack. Serve warm for that melt-in-your-mouth bite.
