Brazilian Brigadeiros An indulgent Brazilian treat!

Preparation

  1. Add butter to a medium-sized saucepan and melt over medium heat.
  2. Add cocoa powder and sweetened condensed milk to the melted butter and mix until smooth.
  3. Stirring constantly, continue to cook the mixture until very thick and the edges are starting to pull away from the pan (this should take about 10-14 minutes). Remove pan from heat.
  4. Grease an 8×8-inch dish (or a plate with a lip) with butter, then spoon the chocolate mixture onto it and spread into a thin layer.
  5. Chill in the refrigerator for 1-2 hours.
  6. When ready to roll, pour sprinkles into a shallow bowl and prepare serving plate or container you will place the complete brigadeiros in.
  7. Remove chocolate mixture from fridge and grease the palms or your hands.
  8. Spoon out small portions of the mixture and roll into balls. Roll balls in the sprinkles until completely covered.
  9. Refrigerate completed brigadeiros until ready to serve.
