Instructions
Preheat oven to 400°F or heat grill to medium-high.
Pat chicken thighs dry and rub with olive oil.
In a small bowl, mix brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and chili powder.
Season the chicken thighs on all sides with the spice mix.
Place on a baking sheet or grill.
Bake for 35–40 minutes (or grill 6–7 minutes per side), until skin is crispy and chicken is cooked through.
Brush generously with BBQ sauce and cook an additional 5–10 minutes to caramelize.
Let rest 5 minutes before serving.
