Baked Chicken Stroganoff

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
  2. Season the chicken pieces with salt, pepper, and paprika, then sear them in a hot skillet until golden brown on both sides. Transfer the chicken to the prepared baking dish.
  3. In the same skillet, sauté the sliced mushrooms, onions, and minced garlic until soft and fragrant. Spread this mixture over the chicken in the baking dish.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together sour cream, chicken broth, and flour until smooth. Pour this creamy mixture over the chicken and mushrooms, ensuring everything is evenly coated.
  5. Cover the baking dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven for about 30-35 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the sauce is bubbly.
  6. Remove the foil during the last 10 minutes of baking to allow the top to brown slightly. Once done, take the dish out of the oven and let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
  7. Garnish with fresh herbs like parsley or dill, and serve the Baked Chicken Stroganoff hot over pasta, rice, or mashed potatoes for a complete and satisfying meal.
