Apple Cinnamon Cake

 

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. Whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt in a medium bowl.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, alternating with milk, until just combined.
  6. Fold in diced apples and nuts, if using.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
  8. Bake for 40-45 minutes until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
