Directions:
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease and flour an 8×8-inch baking pan.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
In a separate large bowl, stir the melted butter and brown sugar until smooth and blended.
Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and beat until fully combined.
Slowly incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients, mixing just until blended.
Gently fold in the chopped apples.
Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan.
Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
While the brownies cool, make the glaze by whisking the powdered sugar, maple syrup, and milk until smooth. Add the milk a little at a time to get the right consistency.
Drizzle the maple glaze over the cooled brownies, then cut and serve.

Tips:
For a great flavor balance, use tart apples such as Granny Smith.
Let the brownies cool fully before adding the glaze so it doesn’t melt away.
