Instructions:

  1. Prep the ingredients:

    • Peel the potatoes and slice them thinly.

    • Cut the onion into half-rings.

    • Chop the mushrooms into small cubes, then mix them with the ground pork. Season with salt and pepper.

  2. Make the sauce:

    • In a bowl, mix the sour cream with crushed garlic (through a garlic press), raw egg, salt, and pepper. Stir well.

  3. Assemble the casserole:

    • Grease a baking dish with oil.

    • Layer half of the potatoes on the bottom. Season with salt and pepper.

    • Add a layer of onion on top of the potatoes.

    • Spread the ground meat and mushroom mixture over the onions.

    • Sprinkle with grated cheese.

    • Add the remaining potatoes on top, season again.

    • Pour the prepared sour cream sauce evenly over the top.

  4. Bake:

    • Bake the casserole in a preheated oven at 180–200°C (350–390°F) for 40–60 minutes.

    • About 5 minutes before it’s done, sprinkle more grated cheese on top for a golden crust.
