- 1 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup heaping, molasses
- 1 large egg
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
