INGREDIENTS
- 2 medium potatoes
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
- ½ teaspoon paprika (optional)
INSTRUCTIONS
- First, wash and peel the potatoes (you can keep the skin on if you like).
- Slice the potatoes thinly using a sharp knife or a slicer. Try to keep all the slices the same thickness so they cook evenly.
- Place the potato slices in a bowl of cold water. Let them soak for about 15 to 20 minutes. This helps remove extra starch and makes them crispier.
- After soaking, drain the water and pat the potato slices dry with a clean towel or paper towel.
- Put the slices into a dry bowl. Add olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika (if using). Mix well so all slices are coated.
- Preheat your air fryer to 180°C (350°F) for about 3 minutes.
- Arrange the potato slices in a single layer inside the air fryer basket. Try not to overlap them too much. You may need to cook in batches.
- Air fry at 180°C (350°F) for 10–15 minutes. Shake the basket or flip the slices halfway through cooking. Cook until they are golden brown and crispy.
- Take them out and let them cool slightly. Serve as a snack or side dish.
Tips & Tricks
- Don’t skip soaking the potato slices — it really helps with crispiness.
- Make sure the slices are dry before air frying, or they might turn soggy.
- Thin and even slices cook better and faster.
- You can try different seasonings like chili powder, onion powder, or mixed herbs.
