3-Day Detox Soup Cleanse

Recipe 3: Red Lentil Soup

Ingredients:

– ¼ cup coconut oil or olive oil
– 2 sweet potatoes, peeled and diced
– 1 apple, peeled and chopped
– 1 small white onion, chopped
– 2 carrots, peeled and chopped
– ½ cup red lentils, rinsed
– ½ teaspoon cumin powder
– ½ teaspoon garlic powder
– ½ teaspoon paprika
– 4 to 5 cups vegetable broth
– 1–2 cm fresh ginger root, grated
– Sea salt and black pepper

Preparation:

Heat the oil: In a large pot, heat the oil over medium heat. Add the sweet potatoes, carrots, apple, and onion. Sauté for about 10 minutes, until the vegetables soften and the onions begin to caramelize.

Add spices and lentils: Once the vegetables are cooked, add the lentils, fresh ginger, cumin, garlic powder, paprika, and vegetable broth. Mix well, bring to a boil, and cook for about 30 minutes, until everything is tender.

Blend the soup: Remove from heat and blend with an immersion blender until smooth and thick.

Simmer and adjust: Return to the pot and simmer a few more minutes. Add water if needed to adjust consistency.

Season and serve: Add salt and pepper to taste, and serve hot for a revitalizing detox experience.
